Ali Lovett is a London-based freelance stylist with over six years experience styling craft projects, interiors, weddings and food of the sweet variety for magazines, commercial clients and book publishers. She has great contacts with all the top London florists, cake makers, stationers and prop hire companies. As a freelancer, she is known for combining her creative touch and craft skills to create unique props and unexpected images.
Ali started her career as a writer for an interiors magazine after completing a degree in English Language. As a lover of all things DIY, she quickly started designing, making and shooting craft projects for each issue.
From there Ali moved on to become the Style Editor at Wedding magazine and the Deputy Editor of Wedding Flowers magazine, where she developed her passion for flowers and used her DIY background to style beautiful and inspiring shoots.
In 2012, Ali left Wedding and Wedding Flowers magazines to go freelance. Since then she has worked with a variety of editorial and commercial clients including, John Lewis, Matalan, QVC, Ted Baker interiors, Landscape magazine, Essential Kitchen Bedroom Bathroom magazine, Brides magazine, Matalan, QVC, Ted Baker interiors. Ali also styled the book ‘The Cake Decorating Bible’, published by Ebury in 2012. Ali also has experience with TV set styling for a cookery series featured on ITV’s This Morning, event styling for press launches and styling stands at exhibitions.
In January 2014, Ali has launched her own business, an online wedding magazine and styling service aimed at modern brides and grooms. It features her styling, shopping pages and writing, all in her unique style – view it at www.unionweddings.co.uk.
In her spare time Ali can be found on her red Vespa in East London, or walking her scruffy miniature schnauzer Betty, visiting local markets and rummaging through second-hand treasures to find her next project.
